Swine flu and deen aside, the environment takes a huge toll on a woman's beauty. Niqaab protects a Muslimah's face from disease and pollution to the skin. Even hijab is beneficial to the hair. My hair has been very soft and silky because it is not exposed to sun, dirt, etc.
Some of the same people who criticize Muslimahs for wearing niqaab will be readily receptive to putting on a face mask to avoid swine flu.
Muslimahs wear niqaab, among other reasons, to protect the face from the dunya.
