Saffiya,

Thank you for your comment on Lisa's blog. I think you'll find me to be very similar to Lisa since we both have been through many of the same, shall we say, struggles within cultural Islam? I don't yet know where my faith will end up, but I will do my best to remain respectful and sometimes agree to disagree :o)

Looks like a great demonstration, you took these pictures?
you know, the pro-assault people are using images of riot and slogans of angry people in some anti-assault demonstrations to their own good, they are trying to undermine the cause of these protests, as well as deform muslims' image, like if they heard the word "Allahu Akbar", this too for some reason sounds scary to them (though i don't see how that compares to the images of the assault)

You have a great knack for photography Safiyyah! I think you should send some of these to MSNBC and CNN who seem to only show the pictures with the angry-looking protestors. Now this peaceful protest is something I can agree with.

as salaamu `alaykum...

My elder daughter (now 7) and I have read many books on WW2. Many of them dealt with the Holocaust. She said once, "How could they do this to others after what they have been through?"
