Jewish Editor Fired For Publishing Article

The below article, by Judith Stone, was sent to Debbie Ducro, a Jewish editor at The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle. She published it and was fired the next day:

Quest for Justice by Judith Stone

I am a Jew. I was a participant in the Rally for the Right of Return
to Palestine. It was the right thing to do. I've heard about the European holocaust against the Jews since I was a small child. I've visited the memorials in Washington, DC and Jerusalem dedicated to Jewish lives lost and I've cried at the recognition to what level of atrocity mankind is capable of sinking.

Where are the Jews of conscience? No righteous malice can be held against the survivors of Hitler's holocaust. These fragments of
humanity were in no position to make choices beyond that of personal survival. We must not forget that being a survivor or a co-religionist of the victims of the European Holocaust does not grant dispensation from abiding by the rules of humanity. "Never again" as a motto, rings hollow when it means "never again to
us alone."

Ironically, the newspaper, The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle, polled its readers about the situation in Gaza. Notice the questions and the interesting results:

Poll Question: What do you think of Israel's actions in Gaza?

Israel was wrong to respond this way. It will increase anti-Semitism. 37.9%

Israel was too restrained before and needs to hit Hamas hard now to restore its deterrent power. 28.8%

Israel had to do something, but the suffering in Gaza saddens me. 22.7%

Israel should have tried diplomatic talks with Hamas first. 9.1%

Israel's response was good, but it should listen to international calls for a cease-fire. 1.5%

Perhaps an email to The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle is in order to appeal to them to restore the editor, Debbie Ducro's job? If you write, remember to be respectful, and encourage them to be receptive to balanced journalism.

Now, now Anonymous ... you made me go and delete your comment!

You have violated my cardinal cyber-space rule: "play nice".

It will "increase anti-semitism?"...not one mention of the killing of innocent children or women?

We are living in the matrix.

Salaams Sabiwabi!

Even more interesting is that, so far, the survey revealed that 22.7% of their readers said that the suffering in Gaza saddened them, and 9.1% were open to talks with Hamas! Incredible for a Zionist magazine!

I emailed them in support of the editor, but they haven't responded to me. I'm not holding my breath. They even removed all of the editor's work from their website!

Whatever injustices and violence happened in the long run of a UN decision, Arab Muslims share their part of responsibility since till today they refuse to acknowledge publicly that under the Ottomans the World historical minority of Babylonian Jewry was protected and that this protection was repealed under the Mufti of Jerusalem when he went to Baghdad in 1941 and brought a pogrom on the Jewish Babylonian community a thing totally unheard of until his visit.

Be prepared to hear the side of the Middle East Jews who contrary to the European Jews have always been in the Middle East and in the case of the Jewish Babylonian community do have a land claim on Israel as much as the Mohawks(Natives) have in Canada.

There was a de facto transfer of population in the Middle East since most of Babylonian Jewry is back in Israel , they are the descendants of the Jews deported from Jerusalem.... whereas Jews from Europe are refugees.

This journalist, Miss Ducro, yes she should be reprimanded by the owner of the newspaper because she publishes lies about the different constitutional equations inside Israel and Middle East Jews won't be silent.
Miss Stone is totally ignorant of the world global Jewish situation contrary to the British who did have to make decisions taking into account the existence of Babylonian Jewry in Iraq and of its rights as a World historical minority that was protected under the Ottomans.
Let's put it this way if the Ancient Egyptians had been deported to Jordan and if for some reason they could not have a full protection there anymore... who would have such a defiance to pretend Egypt is not where they should go and that Egytianism should not exist. Well Zionism starts with the deportation of Jerusalem Jews to Babylon and going back home that is Israel.
The future lies in portraying the situation with as much justice and truth and one of these facts is that different constitutional equations can be respected with justice. My country, Canada, respects the rights of the inhabitants of its territory according to organic historical presence. The Natives are called The First Nations. However, Islam shares a responsibility in the worldwide protection of Jews as much as us in Canada had to share in the decision to protect Kosovars.
So yes, this journalist should be sanctioned by her employer.
Advocacy for Palestinian constitutional equations does not mean that silencing the Babylonian Jewish community (Iraqi Jews) and their right to Zionism i.e. their national home is acceptable.
Different constitutional equations can exist in the same land... Canada is definitely witness to this by its existence.

@ Karole du Ponte:

Insha Allah you are following the comments of this thread because I would like to ask for your help and "pick your brain". Also to ask a question.

You are indeed correct about the Iraqi Jews and the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem. I am researching for a post about him and his role in assisting Hitler during WWII. Particularly, I would like to write about the Bosnian Handjar. I have plenty of pictures! And I have some information. But most of the research comes from Jewish sources. Do you know of any "neutral" sources, i.e., government, UN, etc., I could use. You can understand the need to present all sides due to the sensitivity of this topic.

Also, you talk about "right of return" and secondly of refugees from other areas. In its purest form, I can understand the right of return of the Iraqi Jews. I read a little about how the Israelis have made an awesome effort to help to bring any of them who wanted to back to Palestine/Israel. But do you think that the other Jews, i.e., the Russians, American converts, etc., also have this right of return?

Insha Allah you read this and respond. Thanks!
